Lake Müritz, Lake Plauer See, Müritz-Elde-Waterway
TLake Fleesensee is one of the most beautiful areas in Germany for river cruising. Quite close to it, lake Müritz is home to numerous birds: cormorants, cranes and even eagles. From the top of the Gothic tower of Röbel, you will take superb photos of the surrounding views. Waren is a very lively city with a well-known marina. Every lake connects with several others and you can explore them as you wish, alternating strolls, swimming, fishing and general relaxation aboard your hire boat.
To the west, Plau overlooks its namesake lake. From its 15th century tower you’ll have an impressive view over the tiled roofs and medieval fortifications. The Müritz-Elde canal, which links the river Elde to lake Müritz, runs alongside the meandering Elde river. Parchim, built between two branches of the Elde, is exceptional for its ancient city, its ramparts and its half-timbered houses. Numerous villages and small medieval cities such as Lübz, Grabow or Plate offer fantastic sights from your Pénichette® all along this route. Finally, Schwerin and its famous Rococo castle are highlights of your river cruise that you shouldn’t miss.
