LBH Destination : Scotland

From the departure base: Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Scotland’s first National Park, is an area characterised by natural wonders. Majestic mountains offer views over the ’Queen of Scottish Lochs’, Loch Lomond, some 25 miles in length and the largest expanse of freshwater in the United Kingdom. It has been celebrated, over the centuries in song and folklore, not only for its breathtaking beauty but for being the Gateway to the Highlands of Scotland.

The Loch has 22 islands, many of which have sheltered inlets and sandy beaches. As only 4 are inhabited, the remaining islands offer quiet sanctuary to a great variety of wild life, including golden eagles, nesting ospreys, red squirrels, otters and, (yes!) wallabies. The island of Inchcailloch is popular for its beautiful nature trail and beaches.
