Ireland, a beautiful Celtic country full of stories and legends, is awaiting you for a mysterious and cosy barge trip along the river Shannon. Hurry now and discover the new Locaboat base in Killinure Point !

Quigleys Marina at Killinure Point, near to the Lakes of the Kings, is an ideal spot to embark upon a river trip along the river Shannon. As the base is located at a central point along the stream which is almost 250 miles long, you will be able to navigate your way towards the East or the West.

The new Locaboat base run by a friendly family, is fully equipped. You can just as easily do laundry as rent bikes or recharge your boat with electricity, fuel and fresh water. 3 miles away you will discover the picturesque village of Glasson and its quaint little shops.

To get there, you pass through an idyllic countryside which will set the scene for the rest of your stay. The green panorama is breathtaking.

Along the course of the villages that you'll pass aboard your Pénichette© boat, you are sure to meet a host of friendly memorable characters.

At Athlone, for example, you can drink a beer in the country's oldest pub, 'Sean's bar', after having visited the castle, a twelfth century fortress (haunted of course). You may also wish to take a look at the Luain Gallery or wander around the charming boutiques. But above all, let yourself be taken away by the wild beauty, film sets rich culture, and fantastic zest for life!
