Mystery on the waterways

Mystery on the waterways: Amandine and François, creators of the blog ‘Un sac sur le dos’ set off in search of the secrets of the Canal du Midi with Locaboat.

Several months ago, we contacted globe-trotters Amandine and Francois, who write a blog called ‘Un sac sur le dos’(‘a rucksack on your back’), about an intriguing adventure in a Pénichette® canal barge: a mystery on the Canal du Midi. The mission they tackled was a fantastic four-day adventure on the Canal du Midi on a self-drive boat (no permit needed). Their aim: to solve the mystery of the Malpas tunnel.

It was an epic journey of discovery as they had no knowledge of their destination, had never driven a Pénichette® or even been on a canal cruise before. Clues left along the route of their waterways adventure led them to Argens-Minervois, Le Somail and Capestang before they eventually reached the Malpas tunnel. The quest allowed Locaboat to showcase the Canal du Midi, its villages and local crafts.

Here’s the video of their adventure:
