Cruise holidays through Poland’s unspoiled nature in a few words…

Masuria, in the north-east of Poland, is called “the Land of a Thousand Lakes”, but actually from south to north it can boast 3,000 lakes, 12 canals and 8 rivers all linked to each other. Nature lovers will have a great time here, as the country has over 11 nature reserves, including Lake Luknajo, just 5 km from Mikolajki, listed as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. From your Pénichette® you can see the wealth of Polish heritage, such as the ruins of the fortresses that stood on the hilltops at Gizycko, Worgorzeno and Ryn. As you pass along the canals, you will come across unspoilt towns livenedup by the many summer festivals. At Ruciane-Nida, the Lesniczowka Pranie Museum, devoted to the poet Gałczynskiego, has a programme of concerts and fireside soirées in its natural theatre space. Mikolajki, your departure base, has picturesque houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
