A holiday without some sightseeing and some local culture is almost certainly no holiday! Are you the type to want to visit all the museums, not forgetting a single one? If you’d like to discover heritage and history, great art and the picturesque islands of the lagoon, then we have what you need.
CRUISE SUGGESTION: VENICE AND THE ISLANDS OF THE LAGOON
Leaving Chioggia, stop by the fish market near the Vigo Bridge, take a look at the typical fishing village of Pellestrina and then, after three short hours of navigation, arrive at Venice. Take some time to explore the lagoon and the islands, such as Burano and its lacemaking, Murano known around the world for its glass-blowing craftsmen, or San Francisco del Deserto and Torcello. After your island voyage is finished, head for Venice herself. Discover Saint Mark’s Square, the Doges’ Palace and lose yourself in the myriad of narrow streets of this amazing historic city.

CRUISING IN AND AROUND VENICE – SOME TIPS
Venice’s canals and lagoon connect directly with the Adriatic Sea, there are no intervening locks. So they’re subject to small tidal variations and you’ll need to be a little careful about where and how you moor up. Because of this the lagoon also experiences some tidal flows and currents. But rest assured, this unique destination is still easily managed with just a little experience and, of course, Locaboat’s friendly staff will carefully guide, instruct and make sure your cruise is both enjoyable and tranquil.
