Which range of rental boat should I choose?
Our 330 boats can be divided into two main families: the Pénichettes® with their delightful and timeless cachet, and the ‘river yachts’ that are smart and streamlined. The Pénichette® barge is the ultimate inland waterways boat, and the good news is that Locaboat has the largest rental fleet available in the whole of Europe! There are four distinct ranges of Pénichettes®, including our latest model that was launched in 2018, the Pénichette Evolution®. Pénichettes® can be the perfect match for a couple, a large group of friends or a family because they come in several sizes and can take from 2 to 12 people. You might also be tempted by our ranges of small yachts if you’re looking for top-level comfort. They can take up to 6 people. Every one of our craft has all the fittings required for your wellbeing. They have been cleverly arranged to achieve easy movement around the boat and to make the best use of the available space, thanks especially to the many storage areas. Heating, hot water, crockery, kitchen equipment, cosy couchettes; they are a home from home! Bath towels and bedding are also included.
criteria to choose a self-drive boat
If you want to rent a boat, you can easily work out which model is right for you by answering a few simple questions. The first thing to take into account is the size of your crew. If you have 7 people or more, a Pénichette Terrasse® or a Pénichette Flying Bridge® is your obvious choice. The next thing to consider is the level of comfort you need. While searching for a boat based on the number of cabins, be aware that although inland waterways boats are more spacious and comfortable than coastal boats, our largest boats offer a maximum of 4 cabins. Finally, many customers really appreciate two helming positions. If it’s essential for you to have an outdoor helm, the following ranges are suitable: Pénichette Evolution®, Pénichette Flying Bridge®, Europa and Linssen.
